Oakham & Rutland Treasure Hunt

What a great day we had at the treasure hunt on Sunday. Over 30 cars and families entered and so much fun was had. Registration was at 10am at The Grainstore The staff at the pub were great and made us all feel really welcome.

We were all given a list of questions and a route to follow with another list of items to find. The route was all around Oakham and Rutland and took everyone around 2 and a half hours to complete. Some items on the list included a foreign coin, a photo of a Buddha and a sticky plaster!!!

We visited places we have never seen before which was great and it was suitable for children and adults. A great day out!! Cant wait for the next one 🙂

We also received some lovely feedback from people that entered

Thank you Discover Rutland! A very enjoyable Treasure Hunt around Rutland. We had fun and discovered many hidden aspects of our gorgeous county.

Now I know where the Padi Dive centre is as well as the friendly shop in Whissendine who had strangely sold out of night lights! Strangely, we saw steaming water (what miracle?!) in a font and discovered the helpers wash up in it to keep it clean!!

Rosie’s Jam shop is a real find on Burley Hill, a quaint cottage bursting with goodies, as was Nigel Moon’s windmill in Whissendine from which he mills organic flour.

Finishing up at the Grainstore with their amazing hospitality!

Thanks for a great day

It’s was a great day out. Found out lots more about this wonderful county driving around it. Brilliantly organised and super fun. Thank you!

Fika Cafe

Yesterday I had the most delicious lunch at this cafe in Northgate.

The staff, food and service was great and I will certainly return. I had the leek & potato soup with toasted sour bread – delicious.

Take a look at their site here

Hope you can visit soon and let me know your experience.

Thank you
